This is not a complaint — it is a market reality. Google Ads only permits a narrow slice of CBD: certified, hemp-derived topical products with 0.3% THC or less, and only in a handful of US markets. Ingestibles, supplements and inhalables stay banned everywhere. Meta applies similar restrictions. For most CBD brands, paid search is not a channel you can build a business on. That leaves organic search. And organic search rewards the businesses that do the technical and content work that most CBD retailers skip, outsource badly, or are actively getting wrong.
The good news: most CBD brands have weak SEO. The competition at the organic level is nowhere near as fierce as it looks. If your site is technically sound, your content is properly structured and you acquire links from relevant sources, you can rank — and rank durably.
